Pathway Description
No enrollment after August 30th. The Health Careers program provides the student with a core curriculum that includes a basic introduction to career options within the medical field.
First year students will acquire a variety of medical skills including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (American Heart CPR certificate), first aid and basic safety, vital signs (blood pressure, pulse respirations, and temperature), and basic bedside care, Medical Terminology I, and Anatomy & Physiology using an Anatomy in Clay Manekin® (can be counted as a high school science credit). First year high school seniors will be qualified to take the Oklahoma Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/LTC) clinical and written exam.
Second year students will learn additional lab skills, complete Medical Terminolog II, medical math, develop job readiness skills and be qualified to take the Oklahoma CNA exams with an additional Home Health certification. Qualified second year students will be given the opportunity to receive additional training in the fields of Pharmacy Tech and Veterinary medicine.
